The Centre of Excellence (CoE) is a body that provides value-added courses with industry certifications and skill training for a specific field for students.

The literal meaning of a Centre of Excellence is – ‘A place where the high standards are maintained.

All our centres of excellence collaborated with the industry of specific domains. With the help of industry experts’ syllabi of courses are designed to be conducted under each CoE.

The courses are split into three modules a) Beginner b) Advanced c) Expert.

Core function:

  1. To conduct high-standard technical training with industry experts framed curriculum in specific domain with special focus on latest emerging technologies.
  2. Core Placement related training is given for students
  3. To develop an association between academia and industry for the benefit of the skill development of the students and faculties
  4. To conduct Research and Development in related fields and spread the results of the R&D and other activities through the filling of patents and transforming them into sustainable business proposals
  5. To support creative and innovative proposals from faculties and students
  6. To create a network of nearby institutes for mentoring support

Cybersecurity And Networking

The vision of the CoE for Cybersecurity and Networking is to accelerate innovation, entrepreneurship, and capability building in the cybersecurity and privacy domain for students. It is a commitment towards creating a safe, secure, and trusted cyberspace.

Module 1 CCNA: Introduction to Networks:

The first course in the 3-course CCNA series introduces architecture, functions, and components of the Internet and computer networks
Module 2 CCNA: Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials:

The second course in the Cisco CCNA series extends knowledge in Internet architecture, functions.
Module 3 CCNA: Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation:

The third course in the Cisco CCNA 3-course series develops advanced skills for configuring and troubleshooting routers & switches, and knowledge for resolving common issues.

Artificial Intelligence And Machine Learning

With a focus on exploring AI applications with in students and faculties, our Rathinam Technical Campus established the Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with the support of Augusta Hitech Soft Solutions, Coimbatore in 2019. It facilitates Model building in the fields of Image & Video Analytics, Speech Synthesis & Recognition, and Natural Language Processing.

Course Name: Internet of things for Industry 4.0

Course Objectives:

This course elucidates concepts related to the Internet of Things. The students will get hands-on experience in working with Raspberry Pi 3 and exploring IoT.

Course Outcomes:

After completion of the course, the students will be able to understand the working of Raspberry Pi, its features, and how various components can be used with Pi. The students will be able to understand IoT practically.

Robotics And Automation

Centre of Excellence for Robotics and Automation supported by SPI Equipment India Private Limited, Coimbatore established on 2019, where industry certified course and skill training in robotics and Automation domain given for students.

Course Name: CNC Training

Course Objectives:

  • To understand the concepts G and M codes and manual part programming.
  • To know the application of various CNC machines
  • To impart CNC part programming skills for turning and milling applications.
  • To give a good exposure of CAM software in order to perform simulation and to generate CL data

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Students will be familiar with CNC part programming using G & M codes.
  • The course would be helpful to understand the basic concepts in NC technology.
  • This course would make familiar with the use of CAM software.
  • Students would be able to apply the concepts of CNC parts programming in various Industrial applications.
  • Students would be trained to write and execute NC programs on CNC production machines for different jobs

Bio-Innovation Hub

Bio-I-Hub centre of excellence for biotechnology was established in year 2020 by Rathinam Technical Campus jointly with Centre for Bioscience and Nanoscience Research-Coimbatore to provide a platform for innovation for students. It is one of the best outstanding labs at RTC that is dedicated towards understanding biological systems, living organisms or parts of this to develop or create different products. Bio-I-Hub is a facility rich in evidenced-based practices prides itself on mentoring undergrads students.

Event Name: BME-Hack (Biomedical Engineering Hackathon)

The purpose of BME-Hack is to expose students to the experience and challenges of establishing a biomedical start-up. As part of the hackathon, we will bring together students from diverse academic backgrounds to find solutions for medical challenges while implementing engineering approaches. The students will develop the projects while accompanied by mentors, consultants, and entrepreneurs from the medical device field with diverse experience in technology, product and business development, regulation, marketing, and investment.

The hackathon is organized by the RTC Faculty of Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology.
