About the Programme

BBA Logistics program is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of Logistics Management from a global perspective with an emphasis on Operations & Logistics.

The UG Degree Programme has been designed with the primary objective of creating adequate skills for gaining employment at supervisory / managerial levels in Logistics Industry. In order to ensure effective Skill Development, 60% of the programme component and duration constitute On-the Job Training in the form of internship.

The program will prepare Logistics Managers who will be able to work anywhere around the world, and help companies gain a competitive edge based on high levels of technical and managerial competence, gained in the field during Industry Internship and in theory during classroom sessions.

Course objective

Logistics Management (LM) is often described as one of the most powerful sources of competitive advantage for firms in recent times. LM attempts to further enhance the same at the through higher focus on coordination and integration among the various partners of the Logistics to provide greater value to the customers. This course on Logistics Management is designed as one that is application-based and also attempts to integrate concepts covered in various courses. It covers a wide spectrum of topic including transportation management, lean chain, strategic sourcing, warehousing, and performance-based logistics, constraints management, Logistics network design, and demand management on Human and Marketing. The pedagogy is a mix of conceptual inputs, model-based analyses, and case studies.

The learning goals are specifically:

1. Understand the fundamentals of Logistics Management (SCM) including its role in an organization and in integrating firms in a Logistics

2. Understand the various concepts in Logistics like coordination, planning for uncertainty, supply contracts, logistics management, outsourcing and procurement management

3. Apply various analytical methods and tools so that students are able to measure and evaluate various facets of Logistics performance

4. Understand practices in Logistics that differentiate successful firms from others

5. Understand the challenges in Logistics through a real industry project
