Kathiresan Manoharan is the academic head of architectural studies in Rathinam School of Architecture and offers a definite inclusive background. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from the Anna University and earned an M.Arch. in Urban Design from the School of Built Environment, University of Nottingham, UK. He processes a truly global outlook enriched by his experience as a leader and a team player in prestigious multi-cultural and multi-ethnic design groups.
Kathiresan Manoharan has collaborated as an architect and urban designer in several leading architectural practices in India. During his experience as Project Architect, he has worked on many highly acclaimed projects ranging from sustainable satellite settlements, institutional architecture, mass housing to commercial office buildings, and luxury villas. Also, he has lead teams in design competitions at regional and international levels which have won appreciation for its thematic content.
Within his academic background, Kathiresan Manoharan has taught at the Marg Institute of Design and Architecture, Swarna Bhoomi as a professor in residence. He is actively involved in architectural discourse and has been invited as speaker and panelist in International seminars pertaining to Urbanism. Besides his focus on Architecture and Urbanism, he is involved in the research about Geometry and its impact on the activity of the brain and the body.
