M.Phil. in Mathematics is a two years course which includes one year of course work and one year for dissertation which can be extended up to four years from the date of admission. The areas of specialization are

During the main emphasis is given on mathematics which is the study of quantity, structure, space and change. Mathematicians seek out patterns and formulate new conjectures and resolve the truth or falsity of conjectures by mathematical proofs. The course is an important and valuable one which provides widespread job opportunities. The students have enjoyed the research aspect, and wanted to continue.
